My Approach

Each wedding is a unique event for me. I shoot in a reportage style, focusing on the narration of the wedding as a visual story through spontaneous images that capture all the most important and beautiful moments of your special day. I have a relaxed and unobtrusive approach to wedding photography as I feel that for the best results it is essential that my clients feel totally at ease with me and my presence so that they forget that they are being photographed. This allows spontaneous natural moments to occur that I can capture as they evolve. It is my goal to capture photos of the atmosphere and location, and photos of the newlyweds and their friends and family and guests having a good time. On a full day coverage I always work with a Assistant/second photographer to ensure coverage of the extensive array of events throughout the day. This is particularly useful to add another dimension to the visual record of the day, as well as backup and logistical support.

For full day services I normally work from the agreed start time until the cutting of the cake, after the cake you do your first dance (if you are doing one) and then I will cover a further 15 minutes of the party. This is the best opportunity to get everyone to dance and get some photos. Should the aforementioned events not take place within 8 hours then I reserve the right to charge extra time. I generally arrive one hour before the ceremony to shoot the preparations of the bride and groom. In my experience this allows for the best shots of the bride and groom getting ready before they leave for the ceremony.

Photos of the couple – After the ceremony I usually take some photos of the couple together as husband and wife, I normally leave these images after the couple have had the chance to have a drink and something to eat which may have been necessary at that moment. I normally require about 20/30 minutes with the bride and groom to capture their images. I’m always paying attention to creating an environment where you’re comfortable and your personalities and affection are the focal point of the image. I’ll also be sure to give you as much direction as you need to make you feel natural and focus on your positive physical aspects. At the same time we want to have Fun! In some scenes, the idea sometimes is to get you out of your comfort zone by getting you to do something unexpected, this helps to break the stiffness we all tend to have when we are in front of a camera and get those beautiful smiles and natural emotions.

Group Photos – The family photos are very important, as record of your entire family at an important time in their history together. For the family shots I recommend that you appoint a person from each family to help gather everyone for the group photos. It is important to coordinate this beforehand to ensure that your preferred guests and family members will be present. These photos can usually be done in about 20-30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the rest of the day unburdened by photography.

Meal for the photographer/s – On a full day coverage please account for feeding my second shooter and I during the same time that everyone else eats at the reception, it is appreciated as we need a break and some sustenance from the long day of shooting. Food is energy, and energetic, happy photographers are exactly what you want as it will positively affect the result of our work. Some caterers offer ‘vendor meals’ as an add-on option. I advise you to arrange with the caterer that the table for the photographers is set not too far from the rest of the party so that I have the reception on sight and will be ready to shoot all the special moments such as speeches, announcements, and any other interesting scene that is good to be captured.

Included in the packages is a USB memory flash drive with all the shots of the day in high resolution, plus a selection of the best photos. Depending on the package you choose the number varies.  I do not limit the number of photos I will take during my service. As each wedding is unique, I will photograph as much as I feel necessary to capture the great moments of your day. All the images on USB card are yours to keep and you can reproduce and print them for personal use. I shoot in RAW, I give you high resolution JPG files .

I do basic edit and retouch all images in post production .The selected images are processed and fine tuned for optimal brightness, contrast, color balance, saturation and sharpness, to create print-ready, professional-quality imagery that is vibrant yet natural.I also do a selection of  the images that I feel are the stronger ones and that also would lend themselves to the creation of a fine art book, albums (depends on the collection package). The selection includes a mix of color and black and white photos.

I use Nikon Digital Professional gear. I use a variety of high end lenses and cameras to give my clients remarkable image quality.
